CPR Training
CPR training is mandatory for all members prior to completion of probation. Training is offered three times a year in the HQ training room. Usually, Jan./Feb., April/May and Sept./Oct.
Diversity Training
All members of the Elmont Fire Department are required to complete Diversity Training prior the end of their probationary period. This training is offered on a regular basis by the Elmont Fire District.
Nassau County Fire Service Academy
Incident Safety Officer Begins March 1, 1930 hours at FSA. Prerequisite: Introduction to Fire Officer.
Carbon Monoxide Response & Air Monitoring March 8 , 1930 hrs at EFD HQ. Prerequisite: Essentials of Firefighting
Introduction to Fire Officer Begins March 13, 1930 hours at Great Neck
Confined Space Rescue Begins April 13 at 1900 hrs.at HQ runs for 6 sessions. Some sessions at FSA. Classes at FSA are 0800 to 1600 hours on Sat. or Sun.. Prerequisite: Member must have completed Ropes 1 & 2 .
Combo Classes (Essentials and Primary) May, June July and August. Schedule is available on FSA website, www.veebfsa.org Registration begins Feb. 6.
